The Mental Health Crisis in Sports
Mental Health issues are being discussed more and more each day thanks to more awareness, yet there is one field where it is not getting the attention it deserves. In the world of sports, there is an ongoing mental health crisis and it needs to be talked about.
Introduction
The mental health crisis in sports is a pressing and often overlooked issue that affects athletes at every level. While the stigma surrounding mental health has begun to ease in many areas of society, it remains deeply ingrained in the world of sports. Athletes continue to face unique pressures, and mental health struggles are often dismissed or misunderstood due to stereotypes and a lack of awareness. This website is dedicated to breaking down these barriers by shedding light on the challenges athletes face, the complex factors contributing to their mental health struggles, and the urgent need for change. Through education, resources, and support, we aim to create a more open and understanding environment for athletes to prioritize their well-being.

Why talk about mental health
Issues in sports?
Like many mental health issues, the key to overcoming them is speaking out. Unfortunately, too many individuals suffer in silence, often due to fear or societal pressures. Whether it's the intense expectations placed on athletes or the toxic masculinity that permeates sports culture, silence only perpetuates the struggle. Mental health challenges are just as valid as physical injuries and should not be dismissed simply because they are linked to sports. This issue is especially personal to me, as I have faced anxiety and mental health struggles as an athlete. The path to healing begins with raising awareness about the root causes of these issues and providing the necessary resources for support. Anxiety and mental health struggles are unique to each person, and understanding the underlying factors is essential for moving toward recovery.
